Be Concentric

 Man wants to live and prosper. First he wants to survive then thrive. Same goes for birds animals, trees, plants and even the sand of a sea shore. It is the basic rule of the universe. Nobody wants to die.

There are some rules and duties which ensures survival and growth. We often fail to follow the rules and duties; reasons are that we have lack of knowledge and bad habit. Here is an example-

‘Early to bed

early to rise

makes a man

healthy wealthy and wise’

Most of us admit it but fails to follow it. We know, smoking is not good for health but we smoke. Again there are many situations when we cannot decide what to do.

Now we see that to uphold our existence we need to know the rules and follow them exactly. If we do not have the information we have to collect it from a source or from a person who knows the rules. Now here is a story of a man called ‘Mr Eugine’ (Ex vice-president of Harper and Bros) has the same question in his mind.

Mr. Ray Hauserman approached the world famous publisher Harper & Bros. (New York) to get his book “Ocean in a tea cup” (The biography of Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra) published in his publication.

A decade earlier before Mr. Ray Hauserman went to America, Thakur had given this great message:-

“Standing in the whirlpool of necessity

That seeks to serve the life of man today,

My prayer, my appeal to the supreme father, is

May you be blessed and make all blessed

Ever stretching your steps toward eternal becoming.

This beggar’s naked plea is not for you alone

But for every single being in the world.

O, Father the Supreme!

May none in the world of man be deprived

Not be the cause of others’ deprivation.

I have answered to your quest

What I see, what I think, what I know

Is beneficial to our life and growth

With every blazing, outspoken reply

As far as I conceive.

Do what you think good

For yourself, your family, your country.

May toy be anointed with bliss.

And always do remember;

Wherever good in all respects

Is invoked and imbibed

There, bliss blazed with god resides

With a shooting shower of smile.”

The publisher went through the manuscript and remarked - he is a Christ like man. Had Christ been present, he would also think in the same manner.

Is he alive?

Hauserman – Yes! He is alive.

Eugine X-man – May I see him?

Hauserman – Yes you can see him.

Eugine X – man, Vice-present of Harper & Bros immediately left for India with Hauserman and others to meet Sri Sri Thakur. He landed in Delhi Airport and met his friend Dr. S Radha Krishnan, the then president of India and enquired about Sri Sri Thakur; Do you know the man?  Radha Krishnan replied, Yes, I know him but it is better that you meet him personally to have a first hand information about him. He came to Deoghor via Calcutta to see Sri Sri Thakur. He talked with Sri Sri Thakur – Thakur, I came from such a country where time is measured in terms of dollars; please say your philosophy in a word or two, because I have no time to hear your philosophy in sentences. Sri Sri Thakur replied exactly in two words – ‘Be Concentric’.

X-man enquired – to whom?

Thakur replied – to the living Ideal.

Again he asked – can I make my living Ideal, Henry Ford.

Thakur replied – Yes, then you become Henry Ford but not Jesus Christ who is fullfillar of the best.

X-man said, Thakur, you are most needed in America than in India. I would like to take you to America by charted plane for which I may spend lacs of dollars for your comforts. Sri Sri Thakur was not ready inspite of request and ultimately told to X-man you may carry me there mentally and live me here physically because I have become too old. At the time of departure he put a quwstion before Sri Sri Thakur - Thakur! I wanted to know the meaning of the word “Concentric”.

Thakur replied- concentric word comes from Con+Centric, the meaning of ‘Con’- is together with and the ‘Centric’ comes from centre.
